Reggio Calabria und Vibo Valentia habe ich noch nicht erw\u00e4hnt. Reggio liegt am Meer, gegen\u00fcber von Sizilien, und ist mit fast 200.000 Einwohnern die gr\u00f6\u00dfte Stadt Kalabriens, w\u00e4hrend Vibo mit 32.000 Einwohnern oben auf dem Berg h\u00e4ngt, aber dennoch mit Blick aufs Meer. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Vibo Valentia rangiert in Italien in den Studien bez\u00fcglich Lebensqualit\u00e4t immer ganz unten. Die ersten Pl\u00e4tze werden stets von Bozen oder Trient eingenommen, doch auf Platz 100 steht immer Vibo Valentia. Klar, die Au\u00dfenbezirke wirken immer etwas verwahrlost und trostlos, das ist in Tropea nicht anders. Doch eine h\u00fcbsche, schlichte Einkaufsstra\u00dfe f\u00fchrt hinauf zum Castell, wo verlassene Kirchen und Villen stehen, wie aus der Zeit gefallen.<\/p>\n<p>Wir sehen die Stra\u00dfe (wie immer unscharf: mein alter Fotoapparat), einen verlassenen Stuhl in N\u00e4he des Castells und eine Szene der beschaulichen Zone oben auf dem Berg, der wie immer Adeligen und der Kirche vorbehalten blieb. Vibo gab es schon um 400 vor Christus, hervorgegangen aus einer griechischen Siedlung. 1235 baute der Stauferkaiser Friedrich II. die Stadt aus und nannte sie Monteleone di Calabria. Ein Mietwagen kostet 50 Euro am Tag plus Benzin und die M\u00fche, einen Parkplatz zu finden (doch in Kalabrien gibt es nicht viel Verkehr; es war Samstag, alles entspannt). Reggio Calabria hat einen ausgedehnten Lungomare, ein wunderbares arch\u00e4ologisches Museum, einen Dom und vor allem eine sehr lange Einkaufsstra\u00dfe, in der alle prominenten Namen der Modebranche vertreten sind. Die Frauen sind elegant gekleidet und hochn\u00e4sig.
