Die Prinzhorn-Sammlung, die <em>manipogo<\/em> schon mehrmals vorstellte, hatte die Ausstellung um sieben Wochen verl\u00e4ngert \u2014 wegen des gro\u00dfen Interesses. So etwas h\u00f6rt man gern.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Das Museum schreibt sogar, die Blankenhorn sei zu einem \u00bbheimlichen Star\u00ab unter den K\u00fcnstlern der sogenannten Outsider Art geworden. Erst 60 Jahre nach ihrem Tod wurde man auf ihre Werke aufmerksam, als einige davon 1980 gezeigt wurden. Seither hingen ihre Bilder bereits in 98 Ausstellungen.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/manipogo.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/OIPblankenhorn7.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-29618\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-29618\" src=\"https:\/\/manipogo.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/OIPblankenhorn7.jpg\" alt=\"OIPblankenhorn7\" width=\"193\" height=\"302\" \/><\/a>Else Blankenhorn war das \u00e4lteste Kind des Weinbauprofessors Adolph Blankenhorn (1843-1906), der in M\u00fcllheim geboren wurde, 10 Kilometer vom <em>manipogo<\/em>-Hauptquartier entfernt. Die Blankenhorns sind eine prominente Weinbauer-Familie in M\u00fcllheim, die fr\u00fcher im Blankenhorn-Palais in der Innenstadt lebte. Heute befindet sich darin das Markgr\u00e4fler Museum und nebenan ein Altenheim, deren Einrichtung auch eine Blankenhorn (Elisabeth) testamentarisch verf\u00fcgte.<\/p>\n<p>Else, geboren 1873 in Karlsruhe, wuchs standesgem\u00e4\u00df auf und wurde in Gesang und Klavierspiel unterrichtet. Sie unternahm auch viele Reisen. Mit 26 Jahren verlor sie pl\u00f6tzlich ihre Stimme und kam in eine Krise, vielleicht wegen Ehepl\u00e4nen, die sich nicht realisieren lie\u00dfen. 1906 ging sie in das private Sanatorium Bellevue in Kreuzlingen und zog sich von der Welt zur\u00fcck. Sie bewohnte zwei Zimmer und malte, f\u00fchlte sich als Gattin von Kaiser Wilhelm und machte Musik. Sie verbarg ihre Werke jedoch vor anderen. 1917 bekam sie Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (1880-1938) zu Gesicht und lobte sie sehr.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/manipogo.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/CIMG0566.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-29663\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-29663\" src=\"https:\/\/manipogo.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/CIMG0566-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"CIMG0566\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/manipogo.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/CIMG0566-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/manipogo.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/CIMG0566-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/manipogo.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/CIMG0566.jpg 540w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>1919 wechselte Else Blankenhorn in ein Sanatorium auf der Insel Reichenau, erkrankte an Krebs und starb Ende 1920 nach einer Operation.
