Ich glaube nicht, dass ihr euch gelangweilt habt. Heute ein paar Gedanken zu Afrika, zur Entwicklungspolitik, mit noch ein paar Fotos (die sch\u00f6nen Landschaftsfotos ein andermal, das kam bislang zu kurz). <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Es ist ein gro\u00dfartiges Land. Fassen wir zusammen: Uganda ist so gro\u00df wie Deutschland, aber mit weniger Bewohnern (50 Millionen). Es ist sozusagen eine 1000 Meter hoch gelegene Hochfl\u00e4che, weshalb ewiger Fr\u00fchling herrscht. Nun, da die Regenzeit vorbei ist, n\u00e4hert sich der Hochsommer. Da kann es in \u00c4quatorn\u00e4he im Januar und Februar schon oft \u00fcber 30 Grad hei\u00df sein. Der Victoriasee im S\u00fcden ist doppelt so gro\u00df wie Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg. Gegen Norden hin beginnt die Savanne, und wo die W\u00fcste anf\u00e4ngt (vielleicht 1000 km n\u00f6rdlich von Kampala), f\u00e4ngt auch ein anderes Land an: der S\u00fcdsudan.<\/p>\n<p>Uganda ist ein einigerma\u00dfen stabiles Land und passt zu den \u00f6stlichen Nachbarn Tansania und Kenia. Die Leute sind arm, nat\u00fcrlich, und viele hungern. Uganda hat etwas Erd\u00f6l, die wilden Tiere in den Reservaten, Bodensch\u00e4tze und Kaffee. F\u00fcrchte und Gem\u00fcse wachsen wie verr\u00fcckt. Doch das Geld kommt nicht zu den B\u00fcrgern. 80 Prozent Arbeitslosigkeit, sagt man; es gibt keine Jobs, nicht einmal f\u00fcr Uni-Absolventen. Der Pr\u00e4sident will keine Familienplanung, und es gibt vorsichtige Versuche, eine Rentenkasse aufzubauen. Und links, unauff\u00e4llig, der Weihnachtsmann<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Schon vor 50 Jahren dachten wir als Studenten angestrengt nach, wie den \u00bbEntwicklungsl\u00e4ndern\u00ab zu helfen w\u00e4re, und seit jener Zeit flie\u00dfen Gelder in diese L\u00e4nder, doch man sieht kaum einen Effekt. Vielleicht h\u00e4tte man unser berufliches Bildungssystem einf\u00fchren und sich einfach intensiver um Afrika k\u00fcmmern sollen. Jahrhundert. Wir bereisen Afrika und erleben eine Variation unserer Vergangenheit: das Gleichzeitige des Ungleichzeitigen. Afrika hat sein eigenes Zeitma\u00df, und wir mit unserem Glauben an die Machbarkeit waren zu optimistisch. Afrika muss sich selbst zuverl\u00e4ssige Staatschefs w\u00e4hlen und seinen eigenen Weg finden. Vielleicht wird es 200 Jahre dauern, bis diese L\u00e4nder sich einen bescheidenen Wohlstand erwirtschaften.
