Die britische Schauspielerin Emma Thompson war der Stargast des Festivals und erhielt auf der Piazza Grande den Leopard Club Award f\u00fcr ihr Lebenswerk. Sie wirkte in etwa 70 Filmen mit und war immer eine Sympathietr\u00e4gerin des Kinos. Auf der Piazza wurde am vergangenen Freitag Abend dann der Film The Dead of Winter<\/em> gezeigt, in dem Emma die Hauptrolle spielt. <\/p>\n

Die ber\u00fchmte Piazza. Am Tag sieht sie unbedeutend aus, und die Leinwand wirkt wie ein leeres Versprechen.<\/p>\n

Doch in der Nacht gibt es f\u00fcr Tausende Zuschauer nur diese Leinwand, und die Magie des Kinos spielt die Hauptrolle. Am vergangenen Freitag Abend lugte dann nach Mitternacht sogar der Vollmond durch ein Segment der Gassen. Vorher hatten wir eine jung wirkende, beredte Emma Thompson erlebt, die im April 1959 geboren wurde.<\/p>\n

Hier unten sehen wir sie besser. Besser erwischte ich sie am Tag darauf, am Samstag, beim Interview vor viel Publikum.<\/p>\n

Da erz\u00e4hlte sie aus ihrer Karriere, dass sie nie daran gedacht habe, Schauspielerin zu werden; dass sie viel von Anthony Hopkins und Ang Lee gelernt habe; dass sie selber schreibe und ein Script manchmal ein jahrelanges Projekt sei; dass manche Szenen sich gut lesen, abr filmisch nicht gut geraten, w\u00e4hrend andere unauff\u00e4llige Szenen im Film gut herauskommen; dass sie einmal von Donald Trump angerufen wurde; dass in den USA die Kluft zwischen Schauspielern und dem Team gro\u00df sei, man in Europa enger zusammenarbeite.<\/p>\n

Ihr neuester Film The Dead of Winter<\/em> (Regisseur: Brian Kirk) wurde Freitag im Anschluss an die Ehrung vorgef\u00fchrt. Darin hat man sie \u00e4lter geschminkt, und ich habe gerade den Augenblick fotografiert, als sie (in einem R\u00fcckblick) erkennt, dass ihr Mann gestorben ist.<\/p>\n

Sie will seine Asche nach dessen Willen in einem See verstreuen, doch warten auf sie an einer einsamen H\u00fctte Abenteuer, die eine tatkr\u00e4ftige und leidensf\u00e4hige Frau verlangen. Da wird der Zuschauer nicht geschont,, und die Schauspieler wurden es auch nicht: Statt in Minnesota, wo die Geschichte angesiedelt ist, drehte man in Finnland bei manchmal 29 Grad Celsius unter Null. Emma hielt durch, und wir schafften es auch.<\/p>\n
